Dr. Stuart Pimm, the Doris Duke Chair of Conservation Ecology at the Nicholas School of the Environment and Earth Sciences, at Duke University in North Carolina, presented local Key West High School students Rachel Greiner, Elena Tuya and Alison Learnard an award during a special presentation on April 10, 2005.
These students were honored for their participation in the one-week intern pro- gram this past December 2004 working with master degree students from the Nichols School. Under the direction of Dr. Pimm they worked on several research were debuted in the Key West Botanical Garden Visitor’s Center.
