Speaker Series | Mark Hedden

The Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden continues its monthly Speaker Series at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 16, in the Toppino Nature Chapel.

The March speaker is Mark Hedden, Florida Keys Audubon Society Executive Director, Artist-in-Residence at The Studios of Key West, nature photographer, writer and the Keys’ best known “bird man.”  His topic is: “Flamingos in the Keys: What’s the Deal?”

Admission for the speaker is free for members, $5 for non-members.

All proceeds directly benefit the Garden’s conservation program.  Be sure to come early for the Native Plant Sale from 9 a.m.-noon, offering 150 species of butterfly and bird-attracting native, rare and endangered plants propagated in the Garden’s Native Nursery. Sponsored by:  Florida Arts & Culture and The Monroe County Tourist Development Council.

The Garden is located at 5210 College Road on Stock Island.  For more information call 305-296-1504.

Don’t forget to stop by the Native Plant Nursery for our plant sale!
