1. Scarecrows should not be over six foot in height.
2. Set up will begin September 16 and run through September 30 from 10:00 AM to 3:PM Monday through Friday.
3. Scarecrows are only accepted by reserving a specific appointment time. YOU MUST HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TIME TO SET UP YOUR SCARECROW. Please call the Garden at 305-296-1504 to make an appointment to set up your scarecrow. Each scarecrow will be assigned a number and location in the Garden. Your scarecrow should be free standing. A plaque will be provided for the NAME of your display, the builder / organization.
4. Scarecrows should be complete or nearly so at time of installation. Garden staff will show you the location for your display but cannot help in the set up or transportation to the site.
5. PLEASE BRING ALL YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS TO SET UP AND COMPLETE YOUR DISPLAY AT THE GARDEN SITE. THERE IS NO ELECTRICITY.
6. SCARECROWS MUST BE IN GOOD TASTE: THOSE THAT REFLECT CONTROVERSIAL SOCIAL OR POLITICAL SITUATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. THE GARDEN RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE DISPLAYS DEEMED INAPPROPRIATE FOR THE GARDEN.
7. Scarecrows must be constructed to withstand outside weather conditions for up to two months. The Garden may remove a scarecrow at any time due to its condition.
8. The Garden is not responsible for any loss or damage to displays. It is your responsibility to periodically check on the condition of your scarecrow and freshen it as needed-especially after inclement weather. Your entry represents you; your organization or business and you will want it to look fresh the entire season. Please assist the Garden in helping us ensure the Scarecrows in the Garden looks great the entire season by checking on your display periodically.
9. Prizes will be awarded based on the decision of a three-judge panel. BEST IN SHOW as will be decided by visitors to the Garden.
10. All entries must be kept on display until Saturday, November 30, 2019. Take down will be Monday – Wednesday, December 1-4 between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Garden Staff assistance is not provided for the take down and removal of your display. PLEASE NOTE: ANY SCARECROW LEFT AFTER DECEMBER 5TH WILL BE THROWN AWAY. IF SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS ARE NEEDED FOR REMOVAL, PLEASE CALL THE GARDEN AT 305-296-1504 PRIOR TO DECEMBER 1.
