Twenty students are invited to join in series of three workshops with local artists of the Key West Art in the Garden Exhibit to design, create and exhibit their sculptures during the annual ART in the GARDEN that runs April 19-July 31, 2021. Materials will be provided by the art project and the workshops will be held at the Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden.
The exhibit is an annual event involving students, visiting guests and tour groups in a setting where art combines with nature. There will be one artist mentor for each of three groups of students. Each group will create one sculpture to be showcased in the Garden. Prizes will be given and visitors to the Garden will vote for Best in Show honors.

Legal Guardian/Parent’s approval
Complete an application and liability release forms by April 14, 2021.
$15.00 registration fee must be returned with a completed application
Commitment to participate in three separate weekly workshops with your artist mentor: (1) Concept creation and material list; (2) Finalize scarecrow sculpture design and create the sculpture; (3) Install and exhibit your sculpture in the Garden
Workshops begin April 4 and will follow each week until completion. Upon completion of the sculptures, an unveiling reception will be held at the Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden to exhibit the new sculptures where each student will receive a certificate of completion. An auction of the new exhibit sculptures will be held with the proceeds benefiting the students school(s) as well as cash prizes to the winners of the competition.
